Here are some tips to help you better create String Art and clear up confusion.
Thread Selection
But the finest threads you can find. Our recommendations are pre-calibrated. Thinner threads yield mroe detailed results, while thicker threads cause a loss of detail. For Black & White, buy 0.1mm Nylon thread.
When using your own threads, head to the Settings section in the app and navigate to Generation to download the "Thread Calibration" PDF and calibrate your threads.
The Board
The Size of the board significantly impacts the final apperance of your String Art. Chose the biggest board you can handle to maximize detail. Consider painting or staining your board white for a better finish before starting your project.
After completing the project, rip the paper template off carefully. The paper within the String Art acts as the background if you haven't painted your board white.
Connecting the Nails
Maintain consistent tenstion while wrapping the thread around the nails to avoid sagging threads. Avoid pulling too tightly, as this may rip the thread.
Consider placing the spool on a small stand for easer unwinding while working on your project. If you dont have a stand, wedge it somewhere where it can rotate freely but won't move around.
You only need to tie the threads at the very first nail and when the project is finished. When switching colors, it is sufficient to loop the thread around the nail multiple times to secure the thread.
To move forward in the sequence, you can either press manually or use the Autoplay or Voice Guidance feautures. Also turn on the Narration.
